Freedom

Bars will not hold Me.

How prisons enrage Me.

I fight stagnation everywhere.

I Am spirit, and I love best

those who are spirited,

vivid, courageous, restless,

the dancers, the dreamers,

the kind they always lock up

to try to destroy their integrity.

I Am the clenched fist

that reaches out through the bars.

I Am the stars that slide in

between the bars to comfort them.

It is I who enable those who are trapped

to endure the unendurable.

I cover their eyes with stoic glaze, My curtain,

but I have lifted them up and out and away

to travel pure and free as energy,

leaving the body a crumpled rag

the conscious wind has abandoned.

It's always the ones who love Me best

that get strapped down and tortured

left chained in one place half-alive to rot.

The spirits of those who have died unjustly

cry out to Me to honor them

with a healed future.

All those men who strut around in uniforms,

who follow orders,

all those people who are all front,

zombies inside:

I will tear their masks

and expose their emptiness.

I love teeth and claws.

I love strength and courage and truth.

I hate weapons and lies

and the cowards who hide behind them!

Fearsome, I Am not much use at calming fears.

I call on Yemaya to rock the fearful

and soothe them with waves of nurturing.

I call on Oshun to open clenched souls

with the delights of life.

I work with the fearless,

living and dead, transforming.

I flow through those

who are brave enough to open to Me.

My Beloved ones, My true children

know they are cherished always

in My dark fertile womb of All.

Visionaries of gynergy, respect,

priestesses and priests, revolutionaries,

open to channel Me:

earth-shaking Mystery of Change!

May all beings open

to My driving, healing force,

compelling them to right action.

Seared by My lightning,

My lovers are shattered in My service,

yet they serve Me well.

I Am tempestuous, tempest, temptress!

My primary relationship

is with the Void, the Wild,

and with the future,

the astounding unfolding adventure of hope

I share with human souls.
