Demeter Speaks: Full Moon, Summer

My baby, my little girl, my daughter, my sister, my love,

how I treasure this bliss we share together: 

the hard work of living, the joy of open senses,

the pleasure in creating and nurturing,

the gardening and sustaining of the world, the magic of the moment,

balance, relationship, harmony, right action, this path of beauty.

I know it can’t last forever. 

I know it is a station in a passion, a process,

a corner of the wheel of the year,

but it feels like the axis, the still center. 

Let us live it fully, share this bliss as though it were forever. 

Let’s not mar this joy,

let’s not lose this moment by imagining past and future. 

Past and future dance together interwoven now. 

Let’s savor deeply, fully, this joy we share. 

You are my delight, just starting out.

my daughter growing so tall and strong, so fast.

You are my mirror, myself. I know you so well! 

You are my memories, my lost past! 

My heart is so full of love and beauty,

as full as the summer sun, as full as the harvest moon

and you are my heart, my soul, my Kore!

For a time we are one, and I feel complete.

But that time is too short!
