Advice

When you wed a star, you will find yourself

pierced through by rays of power,

burned clean of dross.

To find you again,

look for the fine line of self-respect

that stands erect,

that stands tall through it all, a spine, a trunk.

Root yourself in the real,

the humble ground of all that grows.

When you feel that strong root underfoot,

you will have your place to stand

despite all exile, despite all loss,

feet-soles connected

to the deathless Soul of All,

root mirroring branches,

radiating energy of life balanced by death.

Then bud, leaf, flower, fruit,

spreading hope’s seed

to feed the future,

and fill the deepest need.
